Our Earl Grey blend is named for the 1st Earl of Derby.
The Greenhalgh Castle in Lancashire, England, now in ruins, was built by the 1st Earl of Derby in 1490 to proivde defense for his estates. As a Royalist stronghold in Lancashire, it finally surrendered to Oliver Cromwell's forces in May 1645 & the castle was demolished.
